1765  A Practice, for some Time, has been carried on by Fisher-men and others, fishing on the Banks and other Places in this Province, of throwing the Offals of the Fish on the said Fishing-Banks and other places, to the great prejudice of the Fishery.
1818  In the fishing season, it is resorted to by at least 10,000 people, on account of the fishing banks.
1958  This is the Nova Scotia trawler Sheila Patricia that caught fire off the east coast on her way to the fishing banks.
